The clinic treats persons from 19 through 64 years of age with no medical insurance and no primary care provider. We strongly recommend that you apply for Medicaid. Very soon we are going to require Medicaid denial letters before we accept you as a patient. We provide primarily non-emergency maintenance care of chronic illness, do checkups, diagnose and treat acute day-to-day illness, dispense generic medications, provide lab testing, provide benefits counseling, enroll patients in the Prescription Assistance Program if needed and make specialist referrals for obstetric, dental care and sexually transmitted disease treatment and other care beyond our scope of service. We have just begun in-depth counseling (6 – 12 sessions) for our patients. These sessions are not during medical clinic sessions.
The pharmacy does not stock any controlled substance drugs, narcotics or any highly addictive drug of any sort.
We are open the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month (9 to noon) with date changes only in August and September due to Ferndale downtown city events and the 4th Thursday of every month, 6 – 9 pm.
We are currently not accepting new patients because we have a waiting list of 90 BUT call the Appointment Line anyhow. They have information on other free clinics, sliding fee scale clinics, dental resourses and a lot more. 248-677-2273.

Mission
The mission of FernCare is to provide no-cost medical care to the medically uninsured residents of the area. We define under-insured as those who do not have office visit coverage as part of their insurance policies. The purpose is limited to those activities that are permissible for a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt organization as specified by the Internal Revenue Code.
