The membership of the board reflects people with company paid insurance, self-insured, catastrophic insurance only, without any health insurance and people of all ages.

Ann is a member of Citizens for a Fair Ferndale, a Ferndale Elks member and represents free clinics on the Michigan Universal Health Care Action Network Board. She is a retired special education teacher.

John is a long time resident of Ferndale. He is an elected member of the Ferndale Library Board and a member of Citizens for a Fair Ferndale. He is a retired public school teacher.

Kate is Senior Program Administrator for Economic Development at Wayne State University. She is a member of the Ferndale Education Foundation. She is a former Ferndale City Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem (2008 – 2011).

We have just welcomed a new Board Member! Shawna Ivancic, Clinic Team.
Shawna is a second year Pharmacy Student at University of Michigan, expecting to graduate in 2014. She hold a Bachelors Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Michigan Technological University. She volunteers at the clinic on a regular basis.

Christine is a pharmacist and medical issues author who holds a doctorate in Health Care Administration. She is a part-time Instructor at Madonna University in Livonia, MI.

Rudolph (Rudy) Serra, Attorney, Counselor, District Judge (Emeritus)
Rudy Serra is an Attorney in private practice. He has served as Judge in the 36th District Court (Detroit), as Oakland County Commissioner representing Ferndale and Royal Oak, and on the Ferndale Board of Education. He holds a Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School with post graduate training in Dispute Resolution; a Master’s Degree in Communication, and Bachelor of Science with double majors in Psychology and Communication, from Central Michigan University. Serra is a Certified Forensic Counselor, formerly a Licensed Social Worker, and a member of the Master Lawyer’s Section of The State Bar of Michigan. He is also a Notary.

Brian Wahl, Clinic Team
Brian is a Senior Benefits Account Manager at GKN North America in Auburn Hills, MI. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English from Western Michigan University. In addition to FernCare, he volunteers for the Accounting Aid Society and Pleasant Ridge Foundation.
